Our church has a long history of families hosting high school foreign exchange students. Please consider hosting or sharing to those who might considering host. While in the past he has played several sports, such as soccer, tennis and water polo, now he has turned his attention to training in the gym twice a week. Alessandro also is interested in learning how and why things work. When he was younger, he liked to take things apart and put them back together. Even today, he prefers to try to figure out why a gadget is broken and fix it. In the same vein, Alessandro likes cars and motorcycles. He has always been interested in becoming a doctor, but is waiting to see how the future unfolds. Sebastian's hobbies include sports like baseball and soccer as well as outdoor activities like hiking and camping. From Germany, He enjoys time with his family and is involved in his church youth group. His favorite subject at school is history, and his teachers describe him as motivated, confident, and popular among his peers. His parents say he is independent, positive, and well- balanced. Though his mother is American, he has never lived in the U.S. and he is curious to see what it is like! Sebastian can't wait to make new friends, bond with his host family, and learn about American traditions! Kayo from Japan, is a creative and crafty young woman who loves meditative arts like sewing and calligraphy. But she likes to stay active, too, and often spends time outdoors, with friends and at camp, kayaking and hiking. Her friends and family say that she's a cheerful and thoughtful person. Ever since a friend of hers studied abroad when they were younger, Kayo has been dreaming of doing the same. She can't wait to study in the U.S., meet her host family, make new friends at school, and learn about U.S. customs. She knows that practicing her English fluency and challenging herself will help her grow.
If you are at the Eden Corn Festival, stop by and get some ribs or other food from our friends.
